Server Configuration

Overview
FWGrid currently consists of 320 computing backends, one computing frontend and one dedicated NIS/NFS server. There are 4 rack groups comprised of 96 HP ProLiant DL145 servers and 7 rack groups comprised of 224 Dell PowerEdge SC1425 servers. Each computing node is connected via 1Gb Ethernet and the inter-rack communication are driven by 10Gb Ethernet. Access to and job execution on the cluster are handled through the computing frontend and the SGE job scheduling system.
